McLean, VA Infill Lot Development
On this project in McLean, VA, the owner decided to tear down the existing home on their 0.35 Acre lot and build a new home on the lot.
DEMARR Engineering was retained by the owner to produce the Civil Engineering drawings and obtain the site permits to tear down and rebuild. We immediately performed a field survey of the site.
Following the site survey, we coordinated with the builder to add their proposed home layout to our site plan. Our site plan included existing features to be removed, proposed site conditions, elevations and grading, impervious area calculations, erosion & sediment control measures, storm water management design, and landscape conservation planning. Our full size 24"x36" site plan set was 14 sheets long to contain all the necessary information. Our plans were then reviewed by Fairfax County, VA and approved upon second submission.
Immediately following plan approval, we handled the site permit processing and construction was able to begin upon permit issuance. We provided limits of disturbance and foundation stakeout for the site and concrete contractors. We also provided consulting throughout the project. Our construction division, DeMarr Construction, handled the existing home demolition, site clearing, basement excavation, and site grading services. As a result, the entire project went smoothly.
