DeMarr Engineering was entrusted with a high-risk, critical construction layout surveying project that required accurately locating a four‑story underground parking garage, below street level, in order to precisely lay out the outrigger pad locations for a 700‑ton mobile crane.
This project began as a typical DC Row House Renovation project. The existing 3-story row building was cleaned down to the floor joists and walls, which served as the starting point to begin this building’s transformation.
DeMarr Engineering was entrusted with the task of preserving this historic property and transforming it into the Heigh Torr Country Inn—a premier destination for weddings, overnight stays, and corporate retreats. This ambitious project aimed to marry historic and environmental preservation with contemporary amenities, creating a unique experience for visitors.
At Springfield Station, the Homeowners Association (HOA) embarked on a remarkable project to remove unused impervious areas and renovate their tennis court while prioritizing environmental conservation. DeMarr Engineering was proud to be a part of this initiative, providing a range of civil engineering services to support removing the existing asphalt basketball court and the restoration of surrounding land.
